Jerry Penhall's Ranger Jerry's Ford Ranger has gone through many transformations since rolling
off the factory floor back in 1984. Beginning its life as a standard cab
longbed, and ending up as an extended cab with a 93-97 front clip. Back
when it was featured in Off-Road Magazine, he had 4wd Twin Traction Beams
and a wimpy 4.0L V-6 engine. Times have changed, and so has Jerry's Ranger.
Now his truck is being powered by a stout 302 V-8, converted to 2wd. Newline's
equal length I-Beam kit combined with a Fox coilover and bypass shock
per wheel help soak up the biggest whoops this side of Three Poles. When
Jerry swapped in his V-8, he had Bassani Exhaust custom build a set of
headers that converged to form an X underneath the truck, insuring that
the gases are expelled efficiently. Custom tweed interior and XM radio
keep him entertained in the lonely deserts of Baja, while his Lowrence
GPS keeps him from getting lost. If one was to sneak a peak under his
Dirtbagz custom wheel well, he would find a three link suspension built
in-house by Jerry's crew, with one Fox coilover and bypass shock per wheel.
Tucked away nicely within the finely crafted body panels, there is a 35
gallon Prep By Jake fuel cell which helps the V-8 gas hog last a little
longer between stops at the Pemex. |
