Jeff Sack's Class 5 Jeff Sack's 5-1600 racer is no love bug. This car has been put through its paces in the rugged deserts of both California and Nevada many times. On all 4 corners sit King bypass shocks, setup by King expert and fellow 5-1600 racer Gerardo Iribe, who is also helping out with Jeff's next project. This bright yellow rocket is powered by a Jimenez Racing engine and mated to a Dave Folts 4-speed transmission. Don't be fooled by the outwardly simplistic appearance of this car; rear travel numbers on this car are "top-secret" but have been acknowledged at above 17 inches. The aforementioned next project? It's a carbon copy of the current car
with some ergonomical adjustments to the cab. Completion date is set for
January 2005, just in time for Jeff's favorite race, the Laughlin Desert
Challenge. Don't be surprised if Jeff puts it in the winner's circle the
first time out. |
