sounds good. the 4000's are H1 bulbs and I'm guessing that the 7" ones are H3's. Ray did the 55w kits and seems really happy with them. They come in sets of 2 so your going to need 3 sets and you will have 1 conversion left over.

I can't say I understand why you would "upgrade" to HID's but then get 3K color. The point of HID's is you can obtain a very white light which not only makes it look more like day but white light can travel father (unless it's dusty). If you want a more yellow light, just don't spend the money upgrading to HID. Make sense?

If you ever want to drive on the street, I'd recoomend 4.5k so the cops and other cars don't hate you. If not, 5k or 6k for everything.

The reason I do 3k is for dust. The 3k hid is way brighter and pulls less amps then a regular light
I am swapping two of my bumper bulbs to 3k and I have two of the roof rack lights in 3k

I get why you want a yellow/amber light. Just seems silly to spend money upgrading, when a $10 lens or cut out will get you the same results. I guess now that conversions are so cheap its almost a who cares issue. I just couldn't understand people buying $200 HID's and running a 3k bulb.

As far as I understand chassis are not allowed to have mild steel to pass score tech. if I were to guess 60 percent of the chassis is mild. Most of the tubing is half inch 120 wall.

Hmmm...I tried to post this earlier today and for some reason it did not post...But anyway...

Under SCORE rules, CREW tubing is not approved for roll cages. The overall frame is not subject to this, but the required roll cage members are.
- A pillars
- B pillars
- Roof Halo (all 4 segments: top front, top left side, top right side, top rear)
- Diagonal
- Rear triangulation braces
These are the members required to meet the minimum tube diameter and wall thickness.
Mr Bill has disallowed 1010 CREW tube fro these portions of the cage. I allow CREW in these parts of the cage. As does Art Savedra. If I were to ban a material, it would be 4130. I feel the best roll cage material for offroad racing and play is DOM. I have never seen a roll cage which failed due to failure of CREW tubing. I HAVE seen and repaired failures of 4130 tubing. I have also seen cage failures due to inadequate bracing and poor design. But a well designed and properly welded cage in DOM or CREW should never have a problem.

Oh..And if Erik's car sells...Team Skittles will need a new red car! Have you ever opened a bag of Skittles and NOT found red candies? It makes me sad that it's for sale.
