Sinister Film Productions - Riviera 2 Unleashed
by Scott Palmer

I have to admit, I picked up Riviera Racing 2 on a whim. The DVD wasn’t on the top of my list and I didn’t think it would be anything special. I was expecting a typical team DVD which concentrates purely on their team and just their truck. Riviera Racing 2: Unleashed is a versatile little DVD which gives air time to their competitors. The DVD looks at drivers like Nick Baldwin, Curt LeDuc, Todd LeDuc and, of course, Mark Post. Here is a sample of the detailed aspects of Riviera Racing 2:

- The camera work is fun, intriguing and keeps the footage flowing. Sinister Film Productions tried some different styles and angles with their footage. Not all of it flows but they definitely have the shots which bring out the “wow” factor.

- Music is a mix rock along with other sounds. The music, most importantly, isn’t distracting from the footage. The music matches the beat, pace, and style of the footage, something that is often missed in other films.

- The footage itself is entertaining and is broken up by a few comedic interactions with the team. So many DVDs provide back to back shots of racing which becomes boring and repetitive. Even with a professional trophy truck team, they are able to have some laughs on camera. The only criticism is the lack of direction with the footage. It can get a bit confusing when they transition between different drivers and races without warning.

Riviera Racing 2: Unleashed makes its rounds at the end of the DVD with a touching tribute to Jason Baldwin. In a sport where all the focus is put on the truck and driver, it’s nice to see that brushed aside to pay respects to another driver and team. The tribute alone makes the DVD worth picking up but the rest of the footage won’t disappoint.
