2003 BITD Las Vegas 200 Tech Report

Future racer of Taylor Motorsports, Kyle Taylor’s son, admires the future of desert racing tire performance with the new Good Year 40” race tire.

Darren Skilton poised to try to catch Kyle Taylor for the coveted Trick Truck championship, the Kia backed Trick Truck is 21 points behind Taylor Motorsports.


Curt LeDuc takes a moment for the camera, Curt is coming off of a well driven race in the Baja ‘1000’, running with the Trophy Trucks, he finished 4th in his class 8 truck. Curt is currently in the points lead in BITD class 8000 by only 6 points over Keith Moore.

Taylor Motorsports poses in front of their Trick Truck and class 8000 truck. They will be running both trucks in the Las Vegas ‘200’.


C&D Fabworks built class 7200 truck, which is driven by one of desert racings best all around racer, Larry Roeseler, is in the lead by 12 points over Hector Salazar.

John Becker’s Ford powered Protruck is only a mere 3 points behind Rick L. Johnson in the 1200 class. This should be the closest race on Saturday.


Watch out for this class 1500 beast, built by Robby Gordon Offroad, this car claims it ‘Hauls A**!’

Who said desert racers only come from the southwest? Schifanelli Motorsports doesn’t think so, with team members from Montana, Colorado, and Utah, they are ready to tackle Nevada’s toughest terrain.

Chuck Hovey awaiting technical inspection of his class 1500 racecar. Chuck and the AllWays Racing team trails Mark and Gary Weyhrich by 12 points, needless to say Hovey will be on the gas all day Saturday.

Coming all the way from Nebraska, Strobel Motorsports brought a small army of crewmembers armed with scooters, ATV’s, and mopeds to escort their class 1000 racecar through contingency.
