2004 SCORE San Felipe 250 Report
by Michael Flores

Veteran racer Rob MacCachren is ready to tackle the Baja penninsula once more, and hopes to repeat last years San Felipe 250 win for Vildosola racing.

Riviera racing's Nick Baldwin pays his respects to David Bills, a sportsman motorcycle racer who died in a tragic accident at last years race. May he rest in peace.

Damen Jefferies and Jimmy Messick pose in front of their red Chevy powered Porter race car.

The Beerman is looking for a finish time. They may find themselves on the podium if the truck holds together.

What would a trip to San Felipe be without picking up your very own straw hat?

Travis Fletcher throws up the horns. He'll show no mercy on the rest of the stiff competition in 1/2 1600.

Co-driver Jerry Whelchel (the crazy fast driver of the Riviera Trophy Truck) signs an autograph for a happy local fan.

Matt and Derek Kreger of Kreger Fabrication, in Orange, CA, stand proudly next to the alligator pedos viejos class 10 car. The car is reported to be ready to "kick some butt"

Pflueger racing's John Hoffman brightens the day of a local youngester by signing an autograph. I'd like to see the hula girl dance when the truck is WFO through the whoops.

Baja Bros. (and sisters) proudly take their sportsman buggy through tech.

You've gotta love the view from the malecon.

Rory Ward of Racers Only looks stoked to be down in baja. With a backdrop like that, who wouldn't be?

The crowds are increasing by the minute, all anxious to get an up close look at the vehicles. The cars and trucks bring out the kid in everyone.

BJ Baldwin seems to be enjoying the experience of driving his Ford powered Trophy Truck down the malecon. Being able to drive that thing down any road would put a smile on anyone's face.

All-Ways Racing's Chuck Hovey has one mighty intimidating front bumper. Starting towards the rear of the field, Charlie will surely put it to good use on race day.

Pete Sohren is looking for his first win in the new Geiser built truck.

The sign speaks for itself. Please sir, step away from the vehicle. This vehicle is protected by the attack flamingo.

Off the line first, Buddy Feldkamp will look to hold off the rest of the pack in class 1.

Dircks and Porter look ready and able to continue their win streak in the SCORE desert racing series. These guys should be fun to watch.

This gnarly rig was spotted just off the malecon, and looks to be quite the ride. It has to pull all the chicks.
